Alexa’s traffic rankings have no credibility at all. I’ve pointed this out many times. Those rankings are generated from a base of users who have installed the Alexa Toolbar in their browser — and only those users! This is a tiny subset of internet users, and not even close to being a reliable sample for estimating traffic. In addition to that, many virus checkers identify the Alexa toolbar as spyware.

Installed toolbar identified as spyware. Sounds like the user base is basically made of noobs that will install anything on their systems. Is that a good demographic to have?
