After we were attacked on 9/11, I had the mental image of a young child being pushed down, hard. The child gets up reaches over and shakes and shakes the thing that pushed it down. Very rough imagery, I know. But when something gets the attention of America by harming us, we are not going to just let it go.
I support the Afghan war. I can see the rough, shifting outline of what GWB tried to accomplish in Iraq.
We are not going to lift our hand off of trying to keep the threat down.
That means being over there, smack in the middle of the ME.
