Which, unfortunately and obviously, isn’t enough for them to fix the problem.

Considering that the sums paid out to the affected people comes from the very residents of the community, every time there’s a payout, it costs these residents - the money isn’t coming out of the officer’s paychecks.

And maybe that needs to be changed; that any officer who is determined to have engaged in excessive force, must pay restitution out of their own paycheck and/or lose portion of their retirement/pensions.
