Dead thread of course… The spousal unit just retired from 20 years at King Soopers — local Denver grocery chain that started in the 40’s, was acquired by Dillon and then swallowed by Kroger. Yep, things went downhill for the workers with every change. Contract negotiations coming up again soon, so we’ll get to hear them poor-mouthing about how they can’t afford to raise wages/maintain the healthcare benefits/et alia. There are ‘Hiring’ signs up at every store in our neighborhood because they’re having such a hard time keeping employees with the crap they keep pulling on employees.
