Yep.
This was the first real dramatic case in a long time that demonstrated how terrorists win.
Oh, sure, the Spanish government handled the bombings badly, cluelessly trying to blame “Basque separatists” but the reality is that the Spanish electorate then handed Al Qaeda the major coup of overthrowing a strong anti-terrorist government and forcing Spain’s permanent retreat in Iraq.
Not that we have much room to claim ourselves superior.
Of course the terrorists won again in the United States in 2006. They hadn’t even successfully struck here since 2001 but we still gave them a new, terrorist-friendly government.
I’m glad someone is remembering what they did.
In this depraved, spineless, age when the networks avoid even showing video from September 11, it’s more imperative than ever that we never forget.
Never forget.
Never forget!
And then vote accordingly.
In the past two major U.S. elections, we’ve done the exact opposite.
