Well one of my friends had people calling his home and making death threats against him and his family and he suddenly found himself being ostracised. His children were subjected to all kinds of abuse and bullying to the point he pulled them from the Islamic day school they were in. Then he got a call from his family Afghanistan. The Taliban dropped off a night letter saying he was a collaborator with the West and left the true path and they should disown him or they would die.

Of course, that was likely an exception.

Sounds bad. Having family at home makes things harder, clearly.
