The second video give a good idea of what was going on. Cops are trying to keep people on the sidewalks and out of the streets. Protesters throwing drinks and garbage at officers. Police continually warn protesters to stay on the sidewalks.
At 1:30 of this video an officer tells one of the organizers in the yellow cap to please get them to stay on the sidewalk. She waves him away and ignores him.
