too much info for me…why don’t you just explain simply why a Patriot cannot shoot down an ICBM…entry speed?…ballisicts?…how does it work?

An ICBM can only realistically be shot down very shortly after it’s launched. Once it reaches re-entry velocity, it’s going too fast for anything to intercept it. That’s the way I’ve always understood the explanation to this problem.
