No disrespect to the man, but Michael Sam won’t have earned that roar until he proves he can make it in the NFL. Ignoring the preseason, his first chance on October 13th, when the Rams play the 49er’s. If he can make good plays against San Francisco’s offense, he’ll have shown the talent he’ll need to stay in the league. The NFC West has two powerhouse offenses, the Seahawks being the other, and the Rams will of course play both times times. It will be interesting to see if Michael Sam gets playing time in those games and how well he does.

There is one other measure of talent Sam can show, as the Rams play both the Broncos and the Giants this coming season. With New York having upgraded its o-line, those teams will provide the second challenge:

Should Michael Sam be able to sack either Manning brother, then he will have shown a sign of true greatness.
