Interesting indeed - except for one tiny little oversight- the “sun” party never truly controlled all of the apparatus of governement but for a scant 2 years of GW Bush’s presidency until now. Thus “The Republicans, so intent on thwarting Obama, have vacated the field, and left it up to the sun party to accept the full burden of legislating us into the future.”
Is incorrect - the Republicans haven’t “vacated the field” so much as they have no way to get ON the field to play - for now.

Realwest, I do think the Republicans have vacated the field; no leadership to speak of, and the “leaders” that are there seem to be buying into a lot of craziness.
