I have to agree. Our prior “shoot em up” stance only bought us a war, which has been to our disadvantage in many ways, and a lot of ill will from our allies.Many Americans have watched too many John Wayne movies and have elevated the idea of fighting wars to some kind of glorious pedestal. It has been a long time since the reality of war has been in the streets of the USA. There are a lot of hawks out there that would turn tail in a heartbeat if bullets were flying in their own towns. These are the folks that would puke on their shoes if you had them spend eight hours in a busy ER. “OMG that is REAL blood!!”
