I really strongly feel though at its core and in an American context, conservatism is an inherently backwards thinking ideology that constantly seeks to exclude rather than include.

Conservatism is really only about protecting the power of whoever is in power. Rich people, white people, male people, Christian people - whoever has the power keeps the power. That’s all Conservatism is.
