Chili’s restaurant chain offers free meals to active duty military and veterans on Veterans Day.

When businesses do such things, it is not uncommon for the business to ask to see a military ID card (they aren’t stupid, a lot of people will claim to be active duty or a veteran).

An African-American was kicked out of a Chili’s for being an African-American (after he’d received his meal; the manager took it away from him).

Since the video of that went viral on the Internet, Chili’s corporate headquarters apologised and said they would be meeting with the man and his lawyer soon.

The man in question not only had his ID card, but a copy of his DD-214 (discharge papers).

The corporation has said they will “make it right” with him. (Betcha the manager doesn’t get fired.)

And they make it worse by questioning his service dog. Do companies not educate their employees on the rights of customers with disabilities?
