The GOP continues to count on the idea that a Democrat in power will not do what a Republican does.

IMO Democrats must be harsh and unwielding or this shit never ends until our democracy is dead. We can do that and still live according to our best ideals. Leading by example doesn’t work with a bad-faith partner
