I would never go into an argument with a pro-lifer saying a fetus is a parasite. I would say it is parasitic, and if given the response you quote above would be happy to go into the details, and why those details mean it is the woman’s right to do what she wants in the jurisdiction of her body.

Heh. In that case, you should really call the placenta the parasite, and the fetus either its offspring or a parasite of it itself. Which kind of shows, to me, how easy these analogies are to break down.

I think that there are ways to talk about the strain that being pregnant is on a woman without having the side effect of dissing motherhood. I’m not good at three word. I also don’t believe in three words. I can’t remember the last time I knew anyone that was convinced by three words.
