As for “evolution’s Big Bang”, that’s not a bad description of the Cambrian Explosion. It really was sudden as geologic spans go. I have Andrew Parker’s book “In The Blink Of An Eye” which comments on that, and further proposes that it was the development of vision (independently in molluscs and annelids) that caused it, or more exactly caused the “arms race” between various forms of no-longer-blind predators and their prey.

Where the creationists are being dishonest is in twisting the words of geologists, that when they say “sudden” they mean it happened in six days.
