At the very least he shows the value of a real primary. One that is not just shades of the same old same old. The quality of the result is usually connected to the quality of the process.

On the other hand, a real primary tends to pull a candidate in the direction of their party base, which is leftwards for Democrats. Which means Hillary will likely have to do a “Race to the Center” in the spring of 2016. Her husband ran that race well, though no one watching him as he did it; Ross Perot being all the rage in the late spring of 1992.
