re: #7 SanFranciscoZionist

Look who’s suddenly concerned for the sanctity of the church!

Get real. “Hooliganism” is an old Soviet-era charge that means ‘they pissed of the government’.

[Link: en.wikipedia.org…]
In the Soviet Union the word khuligan was used to refer to scofflaws or political dissenters, hooliganism (rus. Хулига́нство) was listed as a criminal offense and used as a catch-all charge for prosecuting unapproved behavior. Part of the same bag of tricks as labeling dissent a mental illness. Just reciting it as though it was a real charge is meaningless.

They didn’t cause damage, which the teenager above did.

Your willingness to make excuses for the weirdest people just baffles me.

One of the Occupy people got 45 days in jail. The others got community service.

Clearly, a travesty of justice that should leave Pussy Riot thanking their lucky stars they’re not Americans.

Why did you ignore how American police broke Occupy Wall Street up with methods much more violently when they did nothing close to hooliganism? I acually get why the Russians would want to prevent religious institutions from being used in protests in a nation that has religious extremists waging war. What if a mosque or temple were targeted by extremists for protest next? Germany outlaws Scientology for example.

On top of that I am seeing more press about this Pussy Riot than I did about the Occupy Wall Street trial. That is what is baffeling to me about the state of the American mind. Americans act all superior when in fact they are no better or inferior.

PS: Just because I don’t want religion used as a basis for making laws, etc does not mean I want religious people to be persecuted with certain exceptions like when a religion affects children who can’t make a choice - like religion denying a child medical help, etc.
