The device on the end of the rifle is intended to act as a recoil compensator, but some might say the entire rifle is a “compensator”.

There’s a pretty deep vein to mine in the way that Putin uses “manliness” as part of his image management as a dictator. Not just the shirtless thing…the “Putin’s girls,” the outdoorsmanship, etc. Old school male potency equals leadership potency stuff.

It gets really creepy when you factor in the anti-gay part though.

I can’t believe people are impressed by this. It’s so…obvious.
