What I find interesting is that Williamson sounds almost apologetic for having to take on this task. He doesn’t really try to discredit what Coates wrote, regarding the past, and even acknowledges that what Coates writes about the present is partially correct.
Instead, Williamson does his best to try and pivot the argument to indict liberals and their New Deal policies, etc.
We’ll see if the NRO commenters have any part of this approach.
