Given that I don’t think Chomsky has ever praised the US in writing or in speech, I really can’t take him seriously on what a patriot is and I definitely won’t take that lecture from Glenn who was eager to put down critics of FP in the past. Greenwald really needs to get off the self-righteous train. I don’t think Snowden is evil or up there with someone like Aldrich Ames or Bob Hannsen but he did by his own admission commit a crime and he is hiding out in a nation that has a much worse record on civil liberties than we do and Glenn can’t handle the fact that’s true so he kneejerks.
