The media is only comfortable with playing up the news for what it perceives as “victims” of tragedy x,y or z. Add leftist slant and there are no victims of anything leftist/communist/socialist etc, toss in a pinch or so of influence from middle eastern oil money and some antisemitism etc and there’s a recipe for modern news coverage of Israel.
