Every other person? That’s ridiculous. Alberto Fujimori fled Peru and attempted to resign, but his resignation was refused and he was impeached in absentia. Chavez may be authoritarian, but he was democratically elected.

Fujimori isn’t like Chavez. Far less displayed ego, and a much less venomous attitude towards his opponents. Of course, he is of Japanese extraction and Chavez’s brashness is strongly discouraged in that culture.
