My conclusion from our little poll is that a surprising number of us actually do have our original birth certificates. But many don’t. And I’d like to think that those people could still get a passport, or run for president, without causing people to freak out, create angry billboard advertisements, and start spontaneously reciting the pledge of allegiance at a politician’s town meeting.
