Most of my college elective were history courses, (and highly entertaining) because the profs were all enthusiasts.

I somehow ended up taking all my college history courses from one professor, who was kind of a scream. He was a bit addled, but a great enthusiast. His big interest was the shroud of Turin, so I took his middle ages course and he got to talk about it extensively. That was interesting. But high school was terrible.
