One of the problems I have is the interpretation of Islam through non-Muslims. This happens to Jews all the time. Anti-Semites love telling the world what Jews really say in the “Talmud” or the “Mishnah”. I put those words in quotes because I’ve been to Jew hating sites and see how they use Jewish terminology to make their cases against us. They’ll refer to “Talumdic authority”. They say things like, Jews are commanded by God to kill non-Jews. And of course, we use Christian baby blood for matzoh and that’s in our texts. It’s not simply misinterpretation. It’s just lies.

So when people like Geller or Spencer or anyone with an agenda interprets Islam for me, I’m highly skeptical.

Yes. This. And the pattern is so familiar to me from watching anti-Semites all these years…
