Speaking of strip clubs, a friend of ours bought a building in a town near ours - a “dry” town. He decided to open a barbecue place, but wanted to sell beer with his barbecue.

He went to the town fathers and told him his plan. They told him in no uncertain terms that there would never be liquor of any kind in their town.

He said, “Okay, no problem. Guess instead of barbecue, I’ll open a strip club, because there’s no ordinance against that.”

He got permission to serve beer.

When I was at UK, several of us were working a project in Paintsville, KY. When local contacts asked how to reach us the said we were staying “over the pool hall”. That usually didn’t get the reaction we expected. Seems there were two pool halls in Paintsville.
