This is one of the underlying issues that are being laid bare by videos such as the one of the security officer assaulting the black girl in school. And that there’s supposedly additional video but it hasn’t been released? It’s hard to find evidence suggesting that the girl did anything worthy of being assaulted, even if she refused to leave the classroom.

The headline of the chart is 55% of all black suspensions from U.S. public schools occurred in 13 southern states. My question is what percentage of the black population of the US live in those states? In a awful lot of northern states there isn’t much of a black population to speak of. It isn’t altogether surprising that black students get suspended more where they live. Isn’t that stat irrelevant if you don’t give me the breakdown of what percentage of blacks live in those states?

The 100% in 84 districts is far more relevant, unless those districts are almost all black(which would be a different problem).
