It sucks that fans will miss shows due to boycotts. It sucks for the service people who were depending on the various shows for their income.

People who create these laws don’t respond to shame or criticism. The only thing they might respond to, and ultimately change the law for, is $$$$$.

Collateral dollar damage is an unfortunate part of these boycotts.

I would also say, as a person in the LGBT community, elect better representatives. Get the damn vote out. There are many reasons bigots are in power. Don’t be one of those reasons by being complacent about voting.

I think it’s up to each entertainer to determine how they wish to respond or not respond to the new Jim Crow laws. Duran Duran’s response was lovely, as was Joel McHale’s. Neither one canceled their performance.
