I strongly suspect that NATO is ultimately going to have get involved in all this. Remember, NATO intervened in Libya in 2011 - and to the best of my recollection, Libya was not involved in NATO in any way, shape or form.
Also….the Bosnian conflict.
Right now, NATO’s options for getting involved are largely limited to economic reprisals against Russia and materiel support to Ukraine. The treaties and agreements that we could cite as obligations to protect Ukraine’s sovereignty and its borders are the ones we’re also saying Moscow just ripped up and shat all over. We can’t cite something as both legally binding and as a dead letter.
