So basically, they killed Zawahiri with two Hellfire missiles outfitted with this secretive new bladed killing technique. Basically just turns humans into chunks of organic matter. It still causes a whole lot of damage to the surroundings, though, because it’s moving really fast when it hits the target.

One second he’s sitting there enjoying the sunrise, the next he’s ground beef.

It’s gruesome but probably not as gruesome as explosives since the various bits are not burned or scattered as widely. The local undertakers probably have a fair chance of re-assembling him in the correct order, though not to presentable condition.
Kinetic energy weapons are nothing new, though.

This is the breastplate worn by Carabinier François Antoine Fauveau at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. It has been pierced clean through by a cannonball. Francois was 23 and a dairyman by profession. Needless to say, he did not survive (though his family claims that Francois stayed home to get married and it was his brother who died at Waterloo.)
