Yeah, that case has been made several times…but not by anyone in govt. that I’m aware of.

One thing that gets me…if healthcare reform is so important to Obama, why didn’t he come up with a plan, aided by his brilliant appointees…instead of tossing it to the morons in congress?

Another question: if Medicare is so horribly inefficient that reform will net savings worth hundreds of billions over just a few years, why isn’t the Administration and Congress working to fix those problems right now, regardless of how nationalized health care works out? If there’s really that much negligence and waste, shouldn’t that just be fixed, period, end of story? Why is fixing such an enormous waste being tied to the outcome of a completely unrelated issue?
