Please… don’t be jealous… I was sharing my happiness with LGF, not meant to make anyone feel bad. I was lucky in June/July, Kaiser decided to add a whole new process to the patient survey system I programmed for them three years ago. Up to now, patients were selected for interviews in regards to their doctors. Now Kaiser wanted to add a new process that selected patients to survey about the department they were seen in.

This required a few thousand dollars of programming time on my part. It was almost like I was programming for a living again, and the project made me really satisfied.

I’ve been doing on/off private contract programming for kaiser for 3 years now, and of course it helps, but it’s never enough money to be considered a salary.

But once in a while, they have something major enough that makes me a little cash. My girlfriend and I were going to go to Paris no matter who paid what, but I feel really good to have enough money to make a decent contribution to the trip.
