I don’t recall any mention in the bible of God asking permission from Mary before impregnating her with Jesus in her sleep. So yeah, I suppose God is a rapist if you want to get all technical about it…

The traditional interpretation, as well as the doctrine of the Church, is that Mary accepted her role as the mother of Jesus, out of free will.

Lady I used to teach with would blow the kid’s minds in religion class by pointing out that Mary could have said no.
