Never thought I’d hear a defense for corporations stashing money in Swiss banks, the Cayman’s and the like to avoid taxes. It’s tax evasion using loop holes pure and simple.
The market does not appear to fear the idea, it’s up over 175 points this A.M.

The negative effect would be that US corporations’ costs would increase (they’re not going to just eat the increased taxes), putting them at a further disadvantage compared to foreign competitors. The larger tax burden would be passed along to consumers, in the form of higher prices.
