This special was trying to be way too many things at once.

Resolution of close to a dozen storylines in an hour’s time and finding out that almost ALL of them were part of a grand plan that was essentially explained in a single scene didn’t sit completely right with me either. Some of this stuff absolutely demanded a full fleshing-out process.
