Well I hope everyone had a good holiday at any rate. We did; it was fabulously warm and not a controversial comment to be found. Hanging over our heads, though, was that this was the first xmas without our beloved son, brother, father, and ex-husband. At least, it wasn’t mentioned in my presence.

From the looks of things, though, it appears that the US is at war with itself, and I don’t want to check out when it’s in this state. That’s a scary thought—that a democracy could cease to exist.

I have to half-heartedly agree with the person who commented the other day that this country might not last the rest of the century intact. But it doesn’t have to be that way—can we stop it?
