It probably helps the cop cause that arch-hater Sean Hannity has routinely called DeBlasio a communist for a couple of years now. Hannity cannot mention DeBlasio without off-handedly referring to him as “the communist mayor,” in the exact tone one would use to refer to the “Republican mayor” or the “Democratic mayor,” as though the affiliation were simply a background fact.
In real life, of course, a huckster like Hannity wouldn’t know a communist if one jumped out and bit him on the arse.
