Also, a good number of Da’esh’s leadership cadre are ex-Iraqi intelligence operatives, and they’re keenly aware of what would happen if they tangled with Israel.

If this is the case, and I am not doubting it is, then why don’t we learn from Israel on how to deal with them? As far back as one day after 9/11 I thought our best bet to shut down AQ was to use the Israeli intelligence people and some of the Israeli tactics of making people disappear.

Is part of the issue American military arrogance and the “let us do this” American military thinking?
