I was fortunate to grow up around Chicago at a time when there were no less than three “underground” FM music stations that played all sorts of alternative and album rock music and did much to expand my musical horizons. I recall hearing that LJB song as a teenager.
We had KOL-FM—“Underground Rock”. They played the music “they” didn’t want you to hear. (Including KOL-AM, of course.)
I finally figured out that the music “they” didn’t want us to hear was any song over three minutes…
