The thin veneer through which they’re saying that any previous case they might have had against Flynn is wrong and super evil and there was totally no crime here at all, nope, no siree.

It wasn’t “material” to any investigation. Help me here:

1. Is that even an element of the crime?
2. And if it wasn’t “material” to any investigation, why was he lying in the first instance?
