Yep, same here - my blood is not welcome.

I was similarly floored when my gay friends said they were all banned from donating blood too.

That blew my mind. Apparently it’s due to a 1985 law, back when people thought only teh gays could get AIDS.

If that law is still on the books, does that mean they don’t regularly test straight-donated blood for the disease either?
