Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. These are truly taxing times for all Americans. At the national level, the Administration is pushing cap and trade, which will wipe out the Obama tax “cuts” and “rebates” and destroys the notion that 95% of Americans would not see tax hikes. Obama’s promises are so much BS. It would raise taxes and costs int he teeth of a recession, deepening the effects of the recession and making things far worse than if he did nothing.

And it would adversely affect those in the lowest income tax brackets hardest - since they would be using a larger percentage of their income to cover the increases than other tax brackets.

Meanwhile, at the state level, it’s a mess all around. In NJ, the mess is such that they’re pondering cuts - cutting property tax rebates and actually considering cutting the state workforce (whether that happens remains to be seen since the political class is beholden to the unions despite the fact that the state’s fiscal situation is due in large part to pandering to those same unions).
