The commandos obviously had firearms. Are you asserting that the people on the boats should have waited until they were under fire before they defended themselves?

(Just for the record - I agree with whoever posted above in regard to the idiots on the boat deserving a Darwin award. I arguing that it makes no sense to pretend as if they were the aggressors, when they were obviously under attack by a better armed, far more formidable force.)
