What about every other politician who’s ever done this though and NOT come clean about it? Sitting Senator David Vitter is IN the Senate! If it’s the vindication of the people of his district that makes it OK, then let his people vote on it and let that be the referendum.

Senator Vitter’s only function is to be a reliable party-line vote — his disgrace does not prevent him from doing that. Anthony Weiner’s function is to be the guy who can debate effectively on opposition media. He can’t do that anymore.
