Okay, honest question here, who is an acceptable conservative here? Whether it is an elected official or pundit or whoever, who is it? Beck is now persona non grata. Recently I saw negative comments about Michelle Malkin and Hot Air. I know that Jindal and Palin aren’t acceptable either. Also Rush and I’m sure Hannity. Did I miss anyone? Personally, I like aspects of all the above people. I’ll never agree 100% with anyone. It just seems like there’s a lot of “eating of our own” here. My 2.

If I may, it sounds like you are throwing the baby out with the bathwater. One thing that I believe makes conservativism a more honest movement is it’s willingness to call fellow proponents out on the carpet when they step in it. We don’t go along to get along. It’s not about ideological purity, or any other liberal bugaboo that tries to cast the movement as elitist. It’s about being genuinely concerned about issues, so if Jindal or Palin pushes creationism, they will be called out for it. It doesn’t mean they aren’t still good people, just that there is a point of disagreement. The same holds true for any conservative, because unlike Democrats and liberals with their hero-worship of Clinton and Obama, conservativism is bigger than any one person.
