re: #833 Serious

I’m willing to bend my reality far enough to say that irrespective of the subsequent junta, since they were “elected,” that makes them some sort of an official standing army. But it’s an academic argument. The Geneva Convention assumes that we’re talking about two belligerents that respect the rule of law and preserve the notion of a civilized country. Hamas does neither, and Israel finally said, “you know what? Enough of this happy crappy.” Hamas turned this into a street fight, the kind of brawl that you just don’t want to get involved in. You can’t help but stare though, transfixed, wondering whatever in the world made that psychotic group of thugs push the most dominant power in the region past their breaking point.

Israel is playing it very cool. Hamas keeps flashing dead babies around, pretty soon even the leftards are going to become desensitized to it. It’s not Israel’s fault Hamas doesn’t care enough about their children to keep them out of harm’s way, and they’re on track exploiting it well past the point of diminished returns.
