A lot of British troops lost life or limb in Iraq and Afghanistan and for what gain to Britain or the Iraqi/Afghan people?
Though I think the mess that has followed the “Arab Spring” with Islamists taking centre stage in Egypt and Libya etc and the deeply unpleasant nature of some of the groups opposed to Assad play a part

I doubt many of the MPs who voted against action did so with an easy heart - they knew they were sending a message about the use of CW.
But that’s the thing about trying to choose the lesser of two evils, you’re left having chosen an evil either way
