I think this is one that Obama really screwed up. He killed the F-22 back in 2009… which works…and bet it all on this debacle. Of course, the Air Force refused any more F-15E Strike Eagles after Gulf War 1, even though congress would have given them as many as possible…because everything had to be triple priced stealth.

Wonderful.

There’s something to be said for technological upgrades, but the F-35 is trying to do too much all at once and failing at all of it. The F-22, at least, was a capable replacement for the F-15, if a bit spendy.
