I understand what the meme is getting at (People do get way too passionate over sports at times, like the Dodgers fan who really brutalized that one Giants fan) but at the same time, I see what you mean too. Recreation is an escape. Yeah we’re a little passionate about our sports here but that’s definitely not an uniquely American trait. Hell I may even go as far to say our fans are less fanatical than European ones.
